*The concept of a “Chicago Dinner” started in 1995 in Chicago in an effort to combat racism and the tensions in the communities. With the belief that informal conversations among small groups of people from different racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds getting together to talk about ways to heal the divide, small dinners were held throughout the city. Over 15,000 people participated in the Chicago area. “Chicago Dinners” then spread across the country. Chicago Dinners are being held throughout CT.
